This is a handmade linocut print, lovingly crafted and inspired by a local coot that lives near our lake. How was the coot print made?
We started by designing our own original motif — a round-bodied coot with its distinctive white beak and soft feathers. The image was hand-carved into a linoleum block using precision tools. Then, water-based ink was carefully rolled on, and each print was made by hand-pressing paper onto the block.
Each print is one-of-a-kind, with organic lines and textures unique to handmade work. Slight variations in color or detail may occur — that's the charm of artisanal printing.
Each piece is signed, numbered, and stamped with our studio seal.
